Hewens is a 50’s build school which has been taken over from the council by a charity which is slowly upgrading the facilities for the local community into three levels of teaching. The project involved upgrading 2 existing classrooms per floor with interconnecting toilets, power, heating, lighting and data. The ground floor was upgraded from classrooms to a new entrance, administration and heads office which link to an opening teaching space for computer science, library and community interaction. A new commercial kitchen is planned and the contract included first fix M&E services.

A new fire alarm, security and CCTV system was installed for the scope of works with the facility to extend to the rear of the primary school refurbished directly by Hewens.
