RBS provided the role of Validation Engineer on behalf of ISG and operating as an independent responsibility to achieve satisfactory MEP testing and commissioning and in accordance with BREEAM ‘Excellent’ environmental performance rating.
RBS were engaged at the commencement of the project to ensure quality checks in relation to the installation, commissioning, record drawing checks and certification and to the satisfaction of the Endurance Land and tenants Deloitte.
The MEP design concept was produced by Norman Disney Young in January 2019 and developed by mechanical / public health contactor Bower Fuller and electrical Contractor Moorcroft.
66 Shoe Lane is an existing 19,400m sq.office building currently including accommodation comprising of plant space and bike storage facilities in the basement, ground floor retail Nero & Balls Brothers Bar and seven office floors.
The building has main entrances at Ground level via Shoe Lane and secondary entrance from Athene Place passage with entrance areas generally retained.
The loading bay is from Robin Hood Court with a car lift in the rear of the building accessed from Thavies Inn Road. There is a cycle storage facility and shower room located in the basement with restricted access from Robin Hood Court.
The project was refurbished to CAT A specification to create enhanced office space with increased floor area by infilling two light wells on each floor and modifying lift cores to enable increased access for higher occupancy throughout.
The building will also increase in height to include an additional half floor office / function space on level 9.
