Refit and remodelling of grade 2 listed Basil Spence designed Chichester Engineering faculty under the SCAPE Framework for the University of Sussex. Rose Building Services were employed to manage the mechanical and electrical services which involved the management of new heating distributions services connected via heating exchangers to the site wide district mains, new HWS generation system and distribution to new and existing areas, LV distribution from a new LV panel to new and existing destitution boards, forming new IT rooms and services to the new educations areas on the ground floor, audio visual systems and VRF system for all areas.
The distribution of the mechanical services were through the existing below ground trench system to new risers for the 4 new areas formed and connection to existing risers to server the upper two floors. The New LV panel was located within the plantroom area can connected from a new supply from the LV panel within the HV room. The LV distribution was through the remodelled ground floor to risers to be existing distribution boards on all floors. Co-ordination of change overs were closely managed with various teaching sections within the building not affecting experiences being carried out.
